Standard steel structures

We prepare shop drawings for classic frame-type structures made of geometrically simple members such as beams, columns, trusses and bracing. The fabrication documentation includes members, connections and material lists. We focus on unambiguous detailing, accurate geometry and a logical erection breakdown to simplify fabrication and installation.

We also design and detail:

• structures using cold-formed members,
• steelwork as part of composite structures (steel–concrete),
• plate and shell structures (e.g., tanks, bunkers and silos).

For complex geometries, we provide clear documentation with reference points, control geometry and tolerances to minimise fabrication and erection risks.

Geometrically complex structures – our focus

Within shop drawings we cover, among others:

• spatial elements and 3D systems (e.g., space trusses, frames, multi-surface systems),
• members made from hollow and open sections as well as plates and formed sections, including multi-directional nodes,
• spiral and twisted elements (e.g., stair flights, balustrades, handrails, architectural features),
• curved geometries: arcs, parabolas, ellipses, hyperbolas, as well as spirals and helices,
• complex curved surfaces and solids: spheres, cylinders, cones, including transition and multi-surface forms,
• free-form elements derived from architectural models or survey/as-built data with precise dimensional control.

Scope of service

• 3D model of the steel structure as the basis for shop drawings
• single-part drawings (fabrication details, welds, holes, edge preparation, fabrication notes)
• assembly and erection drawings (erection logic, splits, reference points)
• connection documentation (bolted and welded) with execution notes
• material and part lists, numbering/marking systems and data for procurement
• interface coordination with adjacent trades (e.g., building envelope, process equipment, MEP) during fabrication preparation
• updates based on fabrication and erection coordination
• fabrication data and exchange files in the formats required by the workshop/contractor
